In 2004 Dr Penny Jennings conducted a survey of the attitudes and beliefs relating to Religious Education held by pupils in Cornish secondary schools. Dr Jennings has kindly agreed to allow Cornwall Humanists to publish her report on our website. A link to her full report is at the foot of this page.
3,826 students from Years 9 and 10 completed the questionnaire, coming from 24 out of the 31 secondary schools in Cornwall.
Dr Penny Jennings is a Research Adviser to Cornwall's SACRE and a Research Associate at the Welsh National Centre for Religious Education, University of Wales, Bangor.
The research was funded mainly by a British Academy grant, with personal research expenses in part self-funded, in part funded by a grant from the Bible Society. Dr Jennings is grateful for practical support from Professor Leslie Francis and Dr Mandy Robbins of the University of Wales, Bangor.
